The Burjassot-born fighter became the first Valencian to win a fight in the biggest MMA promotion
Valencia CF received a visit from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Dani Barez. The Spanish athlete watched Valencia CF's match against UD Las Palmas.
I am very happy. They have treated me very well. I played football when I was a kid, but it wasn't my thing. I went into fighting and I got my first UFC win, which is very important because it was my dream. The next thing would be to get into the top 15 in my division,’ explains Barez.
Last September, Dani Barez achieved his first victory in the world's biggest mixed martial arts organisation after beating Victor Altamarino. With this victory, he became the first Valencian to win in a UFC fight.
'I have walked out onto the pitch, it's all very big. I'm used to entering arenas and fighting in UFC in very big events, but this is more impressive as the space is wider open and lit up’, describes the Valencian fighter.
The president of Valencia CF -Layhoon Chan-, the Corporate Director of the Club -Javier Solís-, and the Valencianista legends and ambassadors of the Club -Ricardo Arias, Miguel Tendillo and Vicente Rodríguez, received the athlete and presented him with a personalised shirt with his name on it.
